With great privilege & pride, Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Rayat- Bahra Ropar campus organized a 3-days workshop on "Automobile Design & Simulation" on June 22-24, 2016, in collaboration with National Kart Racing Championship (NKRC) team. NKRC organizes National level Go-Kart and All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) design competitions every year and provides training to students to convert their technical know-how into a practical use. The workshop has brought in participation from 30 leading Engineering colleges of the Country and provided a common platform for engineering students from the States of Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa etc, in understanding the intricacies of the manufacturing process. The main aim of the workshop was to prepare students for competing on the International front.
Inaugurating the workshop, Prof. S.C. Bedi, Campus Director of Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus said that, it is a matter of pride that NKRC team has selected our campus for organizing their workshop. He elaborated that it's the brilliant efforts of Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology students who are the current champions of All India Mega ATV championship. He extended warm welcome to the experts and the students from other engineering colleges such as Delhi Technical University, AMITY University, MMU Rohtak, DIT University, Nalanda Institute etc. Dr Suresh Seth, Joint Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus and Brig. J.K. Sharma, Principal, Rayat Polytechnic College were also present in the inaugural session.
Go Kart Championship, is a global student challenge, with a mission of encrypting students with technical as well as practical knowledge of manufacturing the Go Kart. The workshop is meant to hone the students, so that they are competent enough, for the National Go Kart Competition organized every year. In his address, Dr Ajay Goyal, Director, Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology said that the workshop has opened the great avenues of knowing fundamental concepts on Automobile design and manufacturing processes. He said that the Go-Kart designing process will indeed lead the students to understand the complex issues involved in the designing of world famous Formula –One Racing cars. He exhorted the students to consider it as stepping stone in becoming first Indian to become lead designer in Formula One Racing teams.
From the NKRC team, their leading expert Mr. Abhishek Mittal thanked Rayat-Bahra Ropar campus for providing all the necessary arrangement in successful completion of the workshop.
