Ministry of HRD (Government of India)is organizing world's largest Hackathon competition "Smart India Hackathon 2017" in which 7500 teams of various colleges from all over India participated and pitched their ideas to resolve different problems of various ministries. Our students team of Computer Science and Engineering department of Rayat-Bahra , Ropar Campus "Right Clique"( Shubham, Charu Rana, Gaurav Sandhu, Deepak Singh Rawat, Apurva & Dalwinder Singh) under the dynamic leadership of *Dr. Ajay Goyal ( Director, RIEIT )* and guidance of Dr. Harish Kundra ( Head of Department ) & Er. Amanpal Singh Rayat (Assistant Professor) presented their idea for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and got selected for the grand finale.
The team has designed a network security application for ISRO which can detect Arp-Spoofing attacks which are originated within a network. The winner solutions of this competition will be awarded with Rs 2.25 lakhs(First prize Rs 1 lakh, Second prize Rs 75 thousand, Third prize Rs 50 thousand) cash prize. This is an achievement that our team has entered in the final round of "Smart India Hackathon 2017" which is going to be held on 1st and 2nd of April, 2017 at L.J Institute of Computer Applications, Ahmedabad.
Shortlisted teams will compete non-stop for 36 hours across 27 different locations in India on 1st and 2nd April. The winners might also get an opportunity to work with respective ministries directly and further develop their idea into a robust product. NASSCOM and other funding agencies will consider handholding few very good ideas for converting them into startups.
